A Novel Conundrum

I’ve been meaning to try out the new “A Novel Conundrum” layout for a while. So, I spent a few hours customizing my LJ and then adjusting my website journal page display. I like it. It’s clean, with a nice, elegant navigation.

Got my check from Escape Pod for “The Life and Times of Penguin.” Hurray! And so reprint week continues . . .

Received notification that my ASIM submission made it past the second round of readings and is now waiting in the third for an editor to give it a home. Crossing fingers.

Did the final editing passes and put together my submission packet for the folktale that’s rolling off the Critters.org queue today. It’ll go in the mail later today. Just need to swing by the post office.

  1. That looks good! I like the way your LJ matches your website.

    Yay for checks!

Ooh … your website makes me want rip mine down to the studs and do a complete rebuild.

I like how your website is laid out. It’s clean and professional-looking.

Thanks. I don’t dislike it, but it’s looked this way for years, and I’m getting a little twitchy, ya know?

Ah. Need For Change I do understand. The website fashionistas say that changing one’s homepage design on a yearly or bi-yearly basis is de rigeur. ‘Course once I get something situated the way I like, I’m typically loathe to change it, being of the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” philosophy. Or maybe I’m just too plain lazy . . .

    It looks pretty good. 🙂

I do like the Novel Conundrum layout… I might use it someday.

I am extremely jealous of the new look. (And your pretty website, too.) Alas, my knowledge of creating those types of things is very slim. I have promised myself a website as a reward for my first fiction sale. So I have some time to learn. 🙂

Thanks for turning me on to Escape Pod. It saved my sanity on a very long road trip this past month. I’m really looking forward to your piece. When does SE plan on posting it?

Not sure exactly, but soonish, as in the next month, I believe. I hope!

Signs point to “A week or two.”

Mur Lafferty is narrating it, by the way. She did Laura Anne Gilman’s “Clean Up Your Room” for us a few weeks ago and got a tremendously strong positive response. She’s got a cool podcast too, if you’re into gaming and geekery. And she’ll be at Dragon*Con! (Like the rest of the universe.)
