Stem Cell Transplant Day 14 (Day +7)

Deep into hell week now. Haven’t been able to hold down any food or liquid for 24-hours. Getting IV fluids so I don’t dehydrate. It’s going to be a couple more days until things could conceivably start getting better. Oh, and my hair’s falling out again. (Sigh.)

Needed another platelet transfusion last I night. Nurses are doing their best to keep me comfortable, but morphine now makes me nauseous, and some of this unpleasantness simply has to run its course.

Graft you little stem cells. Graft and grow strong!

Meanwhile, I will seek out unconsciousness.

So sorry you’re going through such torment. I do believe in positive thinking in addition to the daily prayers, so I’ll be picturing the stem cells grafting on and building up like little body builders. I look forward to the day (as I’m certain you do) when you announce you’re feeling a little better.

    Hi…

I read your work, (awesome stuff!!) and have followed your journey for the last 10 or so months. I just wanted to say you have battled this with a lot of courage, dignity and humour! I admire you! I do believe this is the turning point you’ve been waiting for and things will only get better from here. I wish you great health and healing and a quick recovery…..then…more stories please 😉 lol best wishes from Canada

I think about you every day and send thoughts of love and hope your way. You are a champion, even (maybe especially) when you feel least like one. Bless your caretakers for trying to make it easier. And, as always, *hugs*!
