BLASPHEMY cover!

Ooo. There’s cover art for the Blasphemy anthology up at the website!

Isn’t it sexy?

Paul Fry, one of the editors, sent me a request for my bio for the book, so it looks like things are moving right along with them. But I’m never happy with my bios. Should I make it funny? Or serious? Do people read them anyway? Glargh.

They still haven’t sent me the contract. I do wish editors would send contracts out more promptly. It never quite feels real unless there are signatures involved.

I haven’t had to write many bios, but I find it’s easier when they give me a word count to hit. And I always (okay, I haven’t had to do this much yet) find myself thinking, “But I haven’t done anything worth bragging about!”

    And very nice cover!

Ditto the bios. I have two now that until something major breaks in life/career, I’m using as stock. One’s ~70 words. The other ~200 (for program books – I posted it a week or two back for opinions). I have to actually think of myself in the third person to get ’em done. They walk a fine line between serious and comedic – the longer one being the more funny.

THEY HAVE COVER ART AND STILL HAVEN’T SENT YOU A CONTRACT?! That’s not right… it happens, I know, but that’s not right. I think you’re in a time frame that you can actually INQUIRE about that. You’re right about it not being real until signatures are involved.

Actually, I did. When I sent Paul my bio, I also asked him when they’d be sending out contracts. Thus far, he hasn’t responded. But that wasn’t that long ago.

I’m not freaking about it ’cause everything takes a long time in the publishing biz and the Blasphemy folks are obviously moving the project forward. Plus Paul’s begun soliciting manuscripts for other anthology projects, so he’s solvent. I’m prepared to twitch quietly in my little corner of the world. It’s all about the waiting.

      I hate waiting.

I read them. But then, I’m a big geek who’s bio for his comic book work reads like something out of one of the Airplane! movies 🙂
