Early AM Saturday

Watched The Big Clock last night, the 1948 noir thriller. Good flick. I’d actually seen the ending before, but not the beginning. Fortunately, I’d forgotten enough to enjoy the suspense.

Hobkin was a cuddle beast:

Feel a little twitchy today. Maybe we’ll catch a flick. Still haven’t seen Spider-Man 2 or I, Robot.

Writing Stuff:

Heard from Abyss & Apex that they’re looking into my query and will get back to me soon.

Hope to get some good, quality writing time in today.

That is a very weird coincidence. I work at a bank doing very boring stuff and I use books on tape to survive. I just listened to a Rod Serling hosted Radio Drama (from 1973) adaption of that book. They called it the Reluctant Witness and it starred Richard Crenna as the main guy. I immediately wrote it down on the Dybbuk Press wishlist for after Teddy Bear Cannibal Massacre comes out (I edited an anthology. I lost the publisher after I had it together. I decided to start a small press because Lightning Source makes it affordable. I got a very long wish list of books that I want to publish if they are available – it also includes Shaft)

Very cool coincidence. I haven’t read the book, although I’m thinking I want to seek it out now. I heard they did a re-make in the 80’s called No Way Out starring Kevin Costner that removed pretty much all meaning from the story, but I haven’t seen that one.
