Still no word from Patrick, although there’s much relief that Katrina turned east and was downgraded to a category 4 before it smashed into New Orleans.
I may be losing up to two Daily Dragon staff due to the hurricane. I’ll deal if that’s the case, but the second one was also all “well, if I can make D*C, I can’t work here and here and here where I’m scheduled.” I’ve sent a slew of emails to my staff trying to get them to tell me hours they can’t work so I can schedule desk hours to accomodate them, and this is the FIRST I’ve heard from this person, despite my flurry of emails. Not happy! 
Writing Stuff
Published a round robin review of F&SF‘s Oct/Nov 2005 issue to Tangent, notable because I was one of the reviewers. Barely had time to finish my commentary what with all the D*C insanity. But it’s up.
Is there a site for Dragon Con? I just got a bunch of very odd sites when I tried to AOL search it.
“Odd” sites? Now I’m curious. But yeah, the official Dragon*Con website is at: Dragoncon.org.
I wish I could fill in for your missing people, but I have nowhere to stay or funds to pay for parking. Yeah, things are really tight this year with just being on disability.

Thanks for the sentiment, sweetie. I think it’s going to be okay. Got another staffer with a “can’t work these hours” but who can work the hours someone else couldn’t. It’ll work out. How? It’s a mystery . . .

I’m worried too (and so is. I’m not sure why she deleted her LJ, but I fired her an email. She hasn’t replied yet, though . . .
If I’m remembering correctly, her last entry sounded like she wasn’t having the best day. :-/ When you hear from her, please let me know! If she doesn’t come back to LJ, I’d hate to lose touch with her…
