Pining for a Caribbean ocean view, so I loaded some more cruise pictures. The Navigator of the Seas is the one on the right. The other one is a Carnival cruise ship.
St. Thomas:
Matthew overlooking the view on the mountaintop
Pix from our tour:
Inside the ship:
The view of the Promenade out our stateroom window
Looking up from outside the main theater (the Metropolis)
One of the stained glass windows in The Dungeon, one of the dance clubs. With a name like “The Dungeon” I expected Goth or Ambient music. What were they playing? Hiphop. Fooie.
I have that exact same picture of the cruise ships lined up in the harbour at St. Thomas! Did you go on the tour to that horseshoe-shaped beach, where the guy stops on the hill so you can take photos?

Yepper, that’s the one! Although the guide described it as “heart-shaped” rather than horseshoe.
Glad you had fun too!
I’ve been on two cruises….one in 93, and the last in 98….both went to St. Thomas. I did a before and after look at the pix I took, because Hurricane Andrew (or was it Gilbert?) blasted the island right after the first one….it looked totally different.
The first time there, I also rented a car, and drove over the island….got lost (can you believe that? 🙂 ), but still had time to do some nice sightseeing, and swimming at Megan’s Beach. The second time, I took the scuba tour, and had an absolute blast!!
Re: Glad you had fun too!
I was a bit uncertain about the whole cruise thing initially. I’m not a fan of sun, sand, or salt water, but I ended up really enjoying it. Might even want to go on another one at some time in the future . . .
Wish there were cruises that allowed pets, although I suspect spelunking is more Hobkin’s idea of a fun holiday.
Did you know we went to a cruise ship 4X before we had the baby? Hmm, it’s been years. I don’t mind going to another cruise ship–this time I want it to be Hawaii. 😀
I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the cruise. I certainly wouldn’t mind going again!
