Pie V2.0

I have achieved another blackberry pie! A more attractive specimen than my last effort, I think:

Packed in another cup of blackberries, and I still ended up with a flattish top. And the blackberries seem to have taken on a reddish cast in the baking, moreso than the previous one. Don’t know why. Still very yummy. I am, ye verily, quite pleased with my pie efforts to date.

Today’s the last Dragon*Con all-staff meeting. I should be full-up on staff now. Hurray!

Writing Stuff

Still no rejections in the mail. My hope and anticipation are getting frisky. I’ve now got a couple stories at markets that have officially exceeded the response times I’ve been seeing posted at the Rumor Mill. I’m trying to stay grounded, but it’s hard.

    That looks delicious!

  2. Interestingly enough, I once did a google image search for “cherry pie” and one of the images to come up was your livejournal writing icon.

Incidently, I’m going to be out of town this weekend, but I’ll check out the dragon schedule for the future.

Looks wonderful. I almost drooled on the keyboard.

And if it is not bad for him, I hope Hobkin gets to have a tiny bit.

Yep, the little fuzzwit got a little piece of pie, which made him very happy. And, err, somewhat sticky. At least he’s grown out of the habit he had as a baby of standing on his food as he was eating it.

YUMMY! You are so lucky with the berries. All of mine got swiped by the birds and squirrels. You would think that a Doberman and a Geat Dane would keep them at bay. Yeah Right…LOL
What does Hobkin think about the berries?

    • Eugie Foster says:

I’m really surprised the birds don’t get ours. But it could be because our next door neighbor sets out a bird-feeding feast in her backyard, and they’d rather chow down on suet and seed than blackberries.

What does Hobkin think about the berries?

I think they’re a little sour for him, raw. He tends to kill them, and then smear their guts all over the floor. He adores them in pie form, though.
