Slept like crap, neck still hurts, and I had disturbing dreams involving maggots. But I’m happy!!
Writing Stuff:
Sold “Of Two Minds to Lanais” to Brigham-Young’s Leading Edge! It’s my second sale to these folks. Very pleased because this is both a longer high fantasy work, and I was beginning to despair at finding it a home, despite that gut feeling that really it was a good story, dammit!
They asked me to lengthen the denouement as they thought it too short and abrupt, so I’m off to do that now.
Congrats on the sale!!!
Thank you!
I love your icon, btw. Is it a new one?
congratulations!
Thanks!
Congratulations!
So, the LDS folks like high fantasy? I wonder if the idea of reincarnation offends them; if not, I may have something for them.
I had disturbing dreams involving maggots.
I had a disturbing dream involving you and Matt (and Jaime). I hope Matt’s OK… 🙁
Thanks!
Leading Edge‘s editorial horde seems to be pretty accepting of non-Mormon ideology as long as it doesn’t bash them or their values. And they seem to be receptive to “classic” science fiction and fantasy, which high fantasy would definitely count as. Also, they have the advantage of sending you a detailed critique from several of their editors when you submit to them. I haven’t always agreed with their comments, but it was always nice to get feedback.

Matthew’s sleeping peacefully and log-like in the bedroom . We’re both fine and dandy. How’re you doing?
How’re you doing?
Awaky and achy. I need a massage.
I owe you an e-mail. I’ll fire it off to you sometime later this morning.
I hear you on the awaky and achy, owitch. I’ll look forward to your email!
Congrats!
Thanks!
Congrats!
Great to hear the news, Ms Foster!

Congrats on the sale. 🙂
Also, just as an interesting FYI, you’ve got somewhere between two and three times the number of hits on Google as I do. I need to either start publishing outside the RPG industry, or wear a slinky leather dress to a major con. 😉
Thanks!

I’d pay money to see you in a slinky dress! And hey, when you’re talking hits, are you talking just the counters on our main pages, or is there a feature on Google I’m unaware of that tracks hits?
Actually, by “hits”–which was probably not the appropriate term to use–I meant the number of sites Google brings up if you type in my full name vs. your full name.
(Yes, I sometimes type in the names of people I know into Google. I get really bored when I’m stuck between projects for a few days.)
And since I think a lot more people would pay a lot more money to not see me in a slinky dress, I’ll probably just end up having to try option one. 😉
Go you!
