Getting close to fork sticking on “Whatever Skin You Wear,” I think. Waiting on one or two more critiques before sending it out. In the interim, the plan is to resume flogging The Stupid Novel.

But I think you get a Get Out of Jail Free card this time around. I wrote “Skin” for a market whose deadline is coming up pretty quick. I would’ve been knocking at your in-tray, cap-in-hand, already, ‘cept I knew you were into the final stretch of The Warlords Lament, and I so don’t want to interrupt your progress. Although, having said that, this one’s an open submission rather than an invite-only market, so odds are rather higher that it’ll get an “alas.” If it does, I’ll probably want to retool it for a less specific market, in which case I’ll be haunting your in-tray…but only after you’ve hit “The End” on your manuscript.
