Winter bad, writing good

Winter bad. Southbound MARTA train taken out of service, stranding me at Lindburgh station, bad. Eastbound MARTA train running late and stranding me at Five Points station, bad.

Unhappy, frozen commuter Eugie.

Writing Stuff

“Sinner, Baker, Fabulist, Priest etc.” is now up at I was pleased to see four crits in my inbox this morning. At its longer length, I didn’t expect this baby to get much lovin’.

– My December Writing for Young Readers column, “Writing Talking Animal Tales,” is now up! There was much badness with email. My first two attempts to send the editor my column vanished into the Internet ether with nary a peep–no bounce message, no nothing. My email server appears to be butting heads with Most distressing, and VERY frustrating. But at least I was finally able to get the file to her.

– Contrib. copy and payment for Aegri Somnia. It’s puuuurty.

New Words:
– 800 on “By Oak, Bramble, and Metro.” Adderall was indeed the prod my muse needed yesterday. Although this story is going in a different direction than I’d anticipated. I somehow managed to bring the Iraq war into a story about a fairy metro train. My subconscious appears to be on news broadcasts.

Ohhhh! Poor frozen Eugie! It’s cold for this time of year…almost record breaking, they said. Brrrr. But hang in there! It’s still the South, no matter what the thermometer says, and it can’t stay cold for long.

And you know, any time you think a story needs extra crits, just email me! I’ve had to go on hiatus from Critters because I was falling behind again, but for a Eugie story, I will make time! :hugs:

Thank goodness it’s been warming up these last couple days. I actually didn’t need my coat over the sports jacket I’m wearing today. Wonky weather. And it’s still pretty terrible up north. Hurray for the hotter, southern sun!

Sean kindly gave me an extension. So I might yet share a TOC with you.

Think he’d like a story involving Godzilla?

Sounds like a good time to catch up on my Critters contributions, then…

Eep. Now I feel guilty. These days, I tend to forget about Critters until Andrew’s automated system sends me a “warning, warning, your participation has dropped off” note. Bad Eugie, no biscuit.

    It’s cos we love you…

  6. Glad to hear you got your meds in better order, although messed-up metro and freezing weather certainly aren’t a helpful mix for good health. Layer and bundle up!
Fairy train and Iraq War? You’re sure they didn’t slip a little LSD into those pills?

Oh that’s what that little tab of blotter paper my muse was waving around was . . .
