I live. Still dealing with the crud filling my sinuses and lungs, but I’m better. *hack cough sneeze* Although “better” is relative.

Watched Under the Tuscan Sun yesterday a la Netflix. Both Matthew and I liked it. It was sweet without being saccharine and had a dreamy, magical feel.

Writing Stuff

I voted in the Nebula Preliminary Ballot. Whee. My first voting action as an active SFWAn.

Have been very sedentary due to the creeping phlegm infiltrating my soul. But between naps I did manage to do a lot of work on Tangent, restoring archival reviews from 2004 for F&SF, RoF, Analog, Asimov’s, Paradox, and ASIM. Still have a ways to go but we’re getting there. Unfortunately, our old hosting server deleted our database which means we’ve lost a slew of data: archived reviews, membership information, etc. I think we can get 2004 reviews restored, but after that our archives are going to be pretty patchy. I contacted the previous webmaster in hopes that he’d have backups. He had a few reviews, but not many. Going to start emailing reviewers next to see if they kept copies. Argh.

I’m sorry you still feel so rotten. Please take care of yourself — and make sure Matthew takes care of you. 😉

I still don’t have anything to read for Tangent. *itchy fingers* Can I help out with anything while I’m waiting for that review copy?

You haven’t received your review copy of Amazing Stories #608 yet? Eep. I’ll fire off an email to Chris to find out when he mailed it to you, and to make sure it’s properly en route. In the interim, want to help out on the e-Markets side? The editor just sent me a note telling me that he’s low on reviewers. Up ’till now, the print and the e-market side has kept separate, but I don’t see a reason to maintain that level of disassociation.

No ma’am. 🙁 Maybe today. I’m expecting several important pieces of mail that are MIA.

In the meantime, sure, I can help out with e-Markets. 🙂

  2. Hope you feel better soon!

Diane Lane seems like a classy lady- she just has a graceful, elegant, strong sense to her. I wish she’d show up in more films!

  3. Awwww…

*hugs cute lady with cold, faxes her some more meds and juices*

*leaves Hobkin on her lap to keep her warm*

Hi Eugie — I did some reviewing for Tangent back in ’02, and I can email you Word docs of those I did back then (mostly Strange Horizons from Jan ’02 to May ’02).

Just shoot me a note at mjasper (at) gmail.com.

Thanks! As it turns out, our webmaster was able to locate some archives at web.archive.org that date from Dec. 2003. Whew! We’re in the process of downloading and restoring them now. So relieved.

    Review Copies

James Palmer here. Glad to hear you’re feeling a little better. I haven’t received the Feb. ROF yet, so you might want to check on that one too. I don’t know if you sent it from your location or someone else sent it. I would think it wouldn’t take that long to get here from Alpharetta. Just email me when you find out something.

    Feel better,

    James

      Re: Review Copies

Hi James, Thanks for checking in. Your review copy of RoF would be winging its way to you from Chris who lives in Madison WI, but I’ll check to make sure its properly en route.
