Friends from afar, near again.

We’ve got house guests, so this post will be brief. Our good friend, Patrick, and his sweetie, Christy, arrived here yesterday. Patrick used to live in New Orleans, pre-Katrina, and he and Christy became hurricane refugees, opting not to return to Louisiana when the city reopened. They’ve been in Texas for the last eight months, and now they’ve decided to relocate to the Atlanta area. They’ll be moving here in a few weeks, and are doing the job interview/scope out apartments thing this week.

Yay! We knew Patrick from when we all used to live in Illinois, and I’m happier than a skunk with ice cream that he’s moving here! Yippy-skippy!

Not sure what your friends are looking for but there are usually some nice condos for rent over here in the Colony/Club/River Ridge complexes at the bottom of the hill. Ill check with some of the neighbors that own rentals and see if they know of anything available.

They aren’t anything special but at least it’s not a mega-plex on Holcomb Bridge.

Thanks for the lead! Do you have any idea what the price range might be?

I asked the wife about rents and she wasn’t sure. She suggested that they swing into the Colony since it’s the better neighborhood (and right off Nesbitt Ferry) and check out any For Rent signs. That would be the fastest way to see what was available. I’ll take a look the next time I head down Barnwell and see if there are any For Rent signs on this side. People usually put a sign out by the main road on the Barnwell side when they have something available.

Wait…skunks like ice cream? I’m guessing a mixing of chocolate and vanilla…like cookies and creme? 🙂

Skunks love ice cream, but not so much chocolate (or rather, they’d probably love chocolate, but it’s very bad for them). Hobkin loves strawberry ice cream. And vanilla. And caramel. Well, pretty much he loves ice cream. He doesn’t get it very often, though, as it’s not good for him.
