Writing Stuff
Getting back on track, although my writerly muscle has atrophied from disuse. Did a couple editing passes on various WIP (including the folktale that I still haven’t foisted on Matthew yet) to get warmed up. Also doing more Chinese folklore research. Cranked out a couple hundred words, but they were slow and halting.
Novel novel novel. Need to finish novel. (Lather. Rinse. Repeat.)

Is your husband always your first reader? I guess the big question is: Does he reread after revisions/rewrites?
My wife is mine, but I think it might be dangerous. If she judged my writing solely by the state of what she sees, I’m amazed that she supports my quest for publication.
Yep. Matthew’s always my first reader. He tends not to reread my revisions, although he has upon occasion mostly out of curiosity, I think, to see which of his suggestions I used. He’s extremely supportive of my writing, although he’s not big on folk/fairy tales, which is unfortunate as that’s where my passion often takes me. But he can step back and examine the story, pacing, and characters regardless. I depend on him as my first line of feedback. I don’t always agree with him, but I still want his opinion.
I went to the Club 100 website and it seemed like a great idea, so I joined up. Thanks for that info. By the way, I have an excel file from Nanowrimo that can use for keeping track of daily word counts and goals, etc. It’s pretty neat. Let me know if you’d like a copy. I use it to keep track of my novel progress.
My hubby doesn’t read my stuff, but he does help me brainstorm sometimes.
I think Club 100 is a fantastic idea. I haven’t managed to make my 100 days yet, but the virtue of the system is that the attempt alone gets words on the page.
