threeoutside commented in my previous post that she didn’t know what a fairy door was, so I thought I’d post a few pictures of them. Matthew gave me a pair of them for Christmas, and we’re so poky about doing anything around the house (plus I kept waffling ’bout where I wanted them), we simply hadn’t put them up. But it seemed both important and fitting to rectify that last weekend.
This one is at the bottom of the stairs.
Detail view. They’re both about 10″ tall.
This one is in Hobkin’s area next to the hutch he slept under when he wasn’t snuggled with me or Matthew. The window overlooks our backyard fey wild.
Detail view.
Those are SOOO adorable!
Aren’t they? I originally heard about the ones in Ann Arbor from, I believe, an NPR story and fell in love with them. And Matthew, of course, found out and acquired a couple for me.
HA!! “Urban Fairy Operations” … That brings to mind fairies in little business suits, running around, filing building plans, working construction sites, etc 😀
Aw, I love faerie doors! Those are wonderful! 😀
Cuuuute!
What a great idea!
You’ve got to write a story about them now.
