Thank you to everyone who offered their kinds words of support and sympathy from my post yesterday. No further news on the state of my dad-in-law, which I’m taking as good news.
Back to waiting and hoping and trying not to implode from worry.
Writing Stuff
I saw that the Hungarian translation of “All in My Mind” is slated for the April 2006 issue (#193) of Galaktika. Also of note, online Hungarian to English translators suck.
Editing:
A pair of editing passes on “A Thread of Silk” and it’s at first draft. No word from the editor either yea or nay to my query regarding whether he’ll still consider it, despite its length, so I’ve gone ahead and loaded it to Critters. It should go up next week.
Still sending best wishes and good energy for your father-in-law!!!
And, for YOU, too.
::HUGS::
Thanks, sweetie.
Apologies for my tardiness. But sending healing vibes and comfort to your dad-in-law and much love and hugs to you.
Oh, and as far as you not being a good enough “comfort” to your partner? Sometimes you just have to be not do. You know what I mean? However you are handling it right now is enough, I promise.
Thank you, sweetie. And no apologies needed. I am, once again, way behind on reading my flist.

That has to be the single best thing about being a pro. I totally envy you. 🙂
Good luck with your dad-in-law. Still praying!
“That has to be the single best thing about being a pro. I totally envy you.“
Yeah, it’s a pretty sweet perk. Although I assure you I did my time in the trenches .
My thoughts are with you and Matt. May you find the strength and calmness of mind to offer comfort to Matt and your mother-in-law. And, of course, I wish you continued success in the your writing.

How is the Laptop?
If you are still using the desktop, did the wireless thingy break again? I have more second hand wireless device I can send your way.

Thanks for the sympathiness.
“How is the Laptop?“
So far, it has been remarkably bug-free after its last return from the HP shop. In replacing the gasket(!), they appear to have fixed the problem. Although they didn’t replace the non-skid feet that got knocked out, either by their maintenance or en-route back and forth, but that’s a minor annoyance, all told.
“If you are still using the desktop, did the wireless thingy break again? I have more second hand wireless device I can send your way.“
I’m afraid the wireless thingy did indeed break again, but I’m not using the desktop anymore, so that’s okay. But Matthew and I have been talking about installing it into the home theater room as a secondary workstation, something we can only do if we can get the wireless connection functioning again. So if you’ve got more wireless doohickies that you’re not using, we’d be more than happy to take them off your hands.
Home for
