POA, Fantasm, Andre Norton

Got the check from Eggplant Productions for “Visiting Day” in the mail today! Yay! Payment on Acceptance rocks! No word on when it’s scheduled to go up, though.

Also, yakdog asked if I want to be an Ink Track guest at Fantasm. Beating back the baying public-speaking phobia hounds, I said “yes.”

Been reading Andre Norton of late. I’m finding her to be a little overly “high fantasy” in style for my tastes, although still enjoyable. But she’s not doing much for my muse, style or idea-wise. Think I’ll re-read some Tanith Lee.

    Call me stupid

I’ve BEEN to Fantasm, it’s where I met you at, and I still was thinking “Ink? Eugie doesn’t have any tattoos!” Ok, I am not the brightest person in the world. So, does this mean you’ll have to do a panel and get your memberships comp’d? Oh, and Andre Norton does nothing for me either. I prefer John Ringo or David Weber, because I can get the conversation down pretty good, but I suck at describing action.

Heeheehee. Well, in your defense, the Ink Track at Fantasm isn’t exactly its biggest draw. This year, the track was doing pretty good to get the small room it was assigned half-filled, and it had guests like Caitlin R. Kiernan, even!

And yes, I expect I’ll be doing panels, although I’ve had my membership comp’d the last two Fantasm’s ’cause of the stuff I do for the Ms. Fantasm pageant and the Iron Bartender competition. So they’re getting a volunteer and a guest on the same free badge. Not that I expect to be a big name draw or anything, just another warm body to fill in on some panels . . .

I’m still waiting to see my Eggplant thing up, too. [sigh] Am eager out of all proportion to see it. Even though it’s only 300 words or so.

I totally understand. The concept is just so fun and different! I think it’s a great site. Raechel’s been pumping new entries out every week, so it seems like she’s pretty on track. No idea how far in advance she has things scheduled for, though.
